Our Curriculum: Athletics Program

Every Lyceum student participates in the School’s athletic program. Twice a week, students walk to the nearby Alta House, which hosts our program, to meet with their coaches for drills and scrimmages. All students are required to learn and practice the skills proper to soccer, basketball, and volleyball, and to demonstrate good sportsmanship when on the court or field. Brush Park, two blocks from the school, is also a popular lunchtime destination for playing ball.

Playing sports well requires not only physical skill and talent, but even more importantly, personal virtue, both physical and moral. Whether respecting their own bodies through proper diet and regular exercise or respecting one another and the team by playing with true sportsmanship and athletic virtue, sports are treated as an analogy of The Christian Life.
